Rebecca G.
Founder, Rescue Arts

At the age of 16, Rebecca G. was first introduced to the desperate needs
of women and children who had been sold into prostitution in India. As a
daughter of the founders of Project Rescue, her heart was stirred to help,
but she questioned how she would ever be able to do so. Rebecca loved the
arts - creative writing, voice, dance, photography, and theatre.  How could
God possibly bring these passions together to minister to sexually exploited
women and children?

Ten years later, Rebecca founded Rescue Arts, an outreach of Project Rescue,
using the creative arts for counseling and discipleship for survivors of
sexual slavery and abuse. After earning a degree in drama and speech
education and studying theatre as a means for healing in her master's degree,
she began to envision how God could use this field to bring healing to women
and girls in India if it was integrated with faith, prayer, and the work of
the Holy Spirit.  Since beginning Rescue Arts, Rebecca has worked with women
and children in Project Rescue Homes of Hope for 2 years.  In January 2009,
she settled in New Delhi and is leading Rescue Arts sessions with survivors
while training national caregivers and teachers to employ the creative arts
for healing and spiritual growth.

Through Rebecca's passion for using creative arts in expressing faith and
the hope of the Gospel, God is opening doors for her to share her story and
His love in a secular world that is generally closed to the traditional
church. She is a 21st century pioneer.
