Becky Hennesy
Women's Ministries Director
Becky recognized herself as a pastor's wife at age 22 when she and her husband Jim accepted the invitation to serve as pastors in Alabama. Thirty years and three churches later, Becky admits extraordinary peace and enthusiasm for the partnership of ministry with Jim. For most of those years, her role supported her husband's dream and cheering various ministries, but she never quite found the full expression of her heart. Having a specific call upon her life, Becky wanted to "change the world" from her own uniqueness and anointing.
In 2004, God prophetically unleashed an assignment to Becky to build an army of women to impact homes and businesses of the region and world. The challenge she faced involved breaking down the barriers of church culture to offer common ground for ladies of various social, ethnic and generational profiles. With God's empowerment, "Girlfriends" was birthed.
Girlfriends involves a fun night out for women with the theme, "We love, we laugh, we eat chocolate ... we make a difference." With an attendance of 800-1400, each Girlfriends program offers different themes, entertainment and inspiration, but the constants include chocolate, laughter, lots of door prizes, and a loving atmosphere that heals the hearts of women.
